Roman Kemp has revealed his famous dad has “no friends” as he addressed concerned I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! viewers. The Spandau Ballet star, 64, has survived four evictions in the jungle, but some viewers are worried that Martin seems ‘quiet’ and ‘withdrawn’.
The dad-of-two admitted he found it harder to make friends now that he’s older, and his son, Roman, 32, confirmed on Instagram that the star’s only pals were his family. However, assuring viewers his dad was ok and ‘really enjoying’ life Down Under, the presenter, who finished third on I’m A Celebrity in 2019, pointed out how nice it was for Martin to have made some pals.

Roman posted: “Some have said my dad’s not having a nice time in there or not enjoying it. He is REALLY loving it. I said this last night but I think a few of you think I’m just bantering but something I have noticed is my dad keeps saying ‘my new friends’.
“He genuinely doesn’t have mates outside of my mum, Harley and me so he means it, he’ll really be chuffed. Again not being mean, that’s the truth.”
Some viewers have commented that Martin hasn’t been given enough air time on I’m A Celebrity. However, when he took part in a live trial, Roman posted a heartwarming clip of the Gold star.
The short video showed other campmates reacting in horror as the grim details of the rivals challenge were revealed. But as each campmate was almost gagging by the stomach-churning trial, Martin appeared to take it all in his stride as he could be seen grinning.
Roman captioned the post: “This just about sums up my dads time in #ImACeleb”. The short video had fans in hysterics, with many responding to Roman’s playful post.
One replied: “That’s fab he’s just like the happiest, nicest man. Love him!” Meanwhile, another said: “He’s just having a blast every day”.
However, another responded: “Wish he would get more screen time. Haven’t seen tonight’s episode. Will watch it tomorrow. Have just voted for him five times”.

While Martin may have been quiet at times, he didn’t hold back when he spilled the beans on his sex life with wife, Shirlie. The Pepsi and Shirlie star admitted she was left mortified when she touched down at Brisbane Airport last week cheer on her husband of 37-years.
During last week’s episode of the show, Martin led the group in some X-rated campfire chat, saucily revealing the sex position that he and his wife used to get pregnant. Asked if she was embarrassed by his stories, Shirlie said: “Yes, I have been very embarrassed. Having to go out the next day and everyone at the gym, going: ‘Oooh Martin.’ But it’s all good, I am used to it.”
