Both enemies and lovers go head to head next week in Coronation Street as Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) celebrates her milestone 65th birthday. While waxing lyrical about the community her family have chosen to join, vitriolic stares burn holes in Maggie’s saccharine rhetoric.
Alone, broken and utterly vulnerable, it looks as though Carla Connor (Alison King) could be in serious anger as unpredictable Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) approaches.
Finally, David (Jack P Shepherd) and Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) have an incredibly awkward encounter prior to the baby shower Shona has planned.
We know, the weekend drought is approaching. Don’t worry, though, we have everything you need to keep your appetite whet!

As Maggie celebrates her (and, absolutely not-coincidentally, Corrie’s) 65th birthday, her beautiful words about community, family and friendship provide a backdrop to enemies staring holes into eachother.
Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) eyes Daniel Osborne (Rob Mallard with a burning hatred, while Maggie herself is having holes burned into her by Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley).
Will somebody take action?

Though, with what we’ve learned about Becky recently, could Carla be in grave danger?Carla appears to be drowning her sorrows over Lisa, when Becky arrives, smirking at the pathetic state of her nemesis. It looks like a seemingly vulnerable Carla is in danger.

David, clearly thinking he’s been summoned for a much more amorous reason heads home as fast as his feet can carry him.
When he arrives, though, he’s greeted by an incredibly awkward-seeming baby shower, one Shona has hastily thrown to celebrate their pregnancy, despite the serious illness their baby is facing.
Will the shower go smoothly?
