November has been a quiet month for Harry Potter fans. Most of the filming for the John Lithgow, Nick Frost, and Pappa Essiedu-starring series took place within Leavesden Studios, with very little opportunity for leaked photos. However, the reporters did not disappoint when the filming was moved to Ashridge Estate, and we got our first pictures of the cast in their Quidditch attire.
Filming at Ashridge Estate, Hertfordshire
Ashridge Estate in Hertfordshire is not new to the Harry Potter franchise. The location was previously in Harry Potter And The Goblet of Fire, where it also served as the location of the Quidditch World Cup.
Dominic McLaughlin (Harry Potter), Louise Brealey (Madam Rolanda Hooch), Rory Wilmot (Neville Longbottom), Alastair Stout (Ron Weasley), and Lox Pratt (Draco Malfoy) were among the actors seen filming at the location.

We’ve learned that actors Kim Durham (Wicked, Silent Witness) and Joel Montague (Girlfriends) have been cast in the Harry Potter series. Their roles are currently undisclosed.

From the Old Guard to the New
In other news, the original Harry Potter actor, Daniel Radcliffe, revealed that he wrote a letter to Dominic McLaughlin and received a very sweet response.
In an appearance on Good Morning America, Radcliffe said, “I don’t want to be a specter in the life of these children but I just wanted to write to him to say, ‘I hope you have the best time, and an even better time than I did — I had a great time, but I hope you have an even better time,’” Radcliffe added. “And I do, I just see these pictures of him and the other kids, and I just want to hug them. They just seem so young. I just look at them and say, ‘Oh, it’s crazy I was doing that at that age.’ But it’s also incredibly sweet and I hope they’re having a great time.”
When asked about this, Dominic McLaughlin, in an interview on BBC’s “Saturday Mash-Up! Live,” responded, “It was insane. My Dad tapped me on the train and just gave me this letter. I read it, and then I got to the bottom, and it said, ‘Dan R.’ I was going mad, but I had to [keep cool]. I was on the train.”
Rupert Grint, the original Ron Weasley from the Harry Potter movies, also revealed that he wrote Alastair Stout, who plays Ron in the new series. “I wrote him a letter before they started, passing the baton as it were,” Grint said. “It was really just wishing him all the best with it. I had so much fun stepping into this world, and I hope he has the same experience… It’s quite strange to have the cycle happening again. I’m really intrigued what it’s going to be like.”

Harry Potter series will film until May 2026 and is eyeing a 2027 release. Season 2 will begin filming back-to-back after Season 1 after a short break. Stay tuned to Redanian Intelligence for more news.
