INEOS Grenadiers, or as it was previously known, Team Sky, was created in 2010. There was one rider who has raced all the way from the year it was created until 2025 without any interruptions, a whole 16 seasons with the team. Who was he? And who are the riders who have raced for the British team the longest? It was Geraint Thomas. And what a rider to spearhead this list, as the Welshman was one of the cornerstones of the team since its very inception, from young talented rider who was a track specialist, to classics rider, to Grand Tour winner, to valuable and experienced domestique… ‘G’s reputation in the peloton is one that is almost unmatched, and he is one of the riders who was cherished the most. At the Tour of Britain, there were countless tributes to the 39-year old. Throughout his career he won the Tour de France, Paris-Nice, Criterium du Dauphiné, Tour de Suisse, Tour de Romandie, Tour of the Alps, E3 Saxo Classic and plenty other races. However as valuable as his victories and top results is the support and guiding work he has done throughout decade and a half for other leaders and young riders within the team respectively.Behind him is Ben Swift, who is not yet officially retired and was also part of the team in 2010. However, for two brief years, Swift raced for UAE Team Emirates – XRG. Hence, Swift has 14 seasons with the team, in which he has won a few World Tour races, has finished on the podium of MIlano-Sanremo twice, and has now for several years been a reliable all-rounder domestique.
