Luis Palma is enjoying his time on loan in Poland.
The Celtic forward split opinion during his time in Glasgow, but it eventually became clear that he was no longer in Brendan Rodgers’ plans.
However, it was reported two weeks ago that Wilfried Nancy could recall Palma, with the player having a ‘change in situation’ after Rodgers’ departure.
Celtic’s squad is light on attacking options, and Palma has excelled in a new role for Lech Poznan – so is this really a possibility?
Honduran journalist Alvaro De La Rocha has cleared up the situation ahead of January.
Luis Palma Celtic situation cleared up
Lech have a €4.5m option to buy included in their loan deal for Palma.
If the option were to be triggered, he would become the club’s record signing, making Celtic a profit on what they paid in 2023.

And De La Rocha has confirmed that Palma will not be returning to Celtic in January, and he will instead remain in Poland until the end of the campaign.
The report says that Palma has had no contact from Celtic or Nancy about cutting his Lech spell short.
Interestingly, the report also says that whilst Poznan are interested in making the move permanent, this is not currently seen as financially viable.
Luis Palma to remain in Poland until the end of the season, but move to Lech is not currently ‘financially viable’

Palma will be in an intriguing position next summer if Lech are unable to cough up the funds to keep him in Poland permanently.
The more central position in which he has operated in Poland could lend itself better to Nancy’s 3-4-3 system.
And if he becomes available to clubs elsewhere, his current form could lead to a potential bidding war.
Celtic players out on loan
Fellow 2023 signing Maik Nawrocki is also out on loan with an option to buy. He is at Hannover 96, where he has recently hit form and established himself as a starter in 2 Bundesliga.
Stephen Welsh has entered the Scotland conversation with his form on loan at high-flying Motherwell.
Odin Thiago Holm has struggled with his health on loan at LAFC in MLS, restricting him to just five competitive appearances in 2025.
Adam Montgomery and Tobi Oluwayemi are both out on loan in the Scottish Premiership.
