I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! winner Angry Ginge has seemingly taken a swipe at his dad and refuses to ditch his jungle crown as he makes his way back to the UK. The streamer and YouTube star was crowned the King of the Jungle on Sunday (December 7) as the ITV reality show’s 2025 series came to an end.

Angry Ginge, real name Morgan Burtwistle, was met by his ecstatic mum, Michelle – who raised Ginge and his sister, Tasha, as a single parent in Eccles – on the iconic bridge Down Under and later told how he’d gone on I’m A Celeb to make her proud.

He had nothing to say about his estranged dad but has since shared a post on Instagram, making his feelings clear. The star seemingly joined in on a joke that suggested his dad would be furious at seeing his success after leaving the family.

Over a clip of actor, Matthew McConaunghey sobbing in the film, Interstellar, as he watches his estranged daughter in a old video, a fan wrote: “Angry Ginge’s dad watching his past self walk out on his son, who would go on to win I’m A Celebrity.”

Commenting on the clip, the Mirror reports that Ginge replied: “HAHAHAHAHAHAH” before posting a shot of a huge plate of steak and chips as he enjoyed all his luxury hotel on the Gold Coast has to offer.

It comes after 24-year-old Ginge spoke candidly about his upbringing on a council estate in Greater Manchester after leaving the jungle as he revealed that money was scarce.

Admitting he thought about quitting the I’m A Celeb, but stayed in because he wanted to impress his mum, he said: “I will never forget where I came from, and I think because I started literally from the bottom and watched everyone around me from my mates to their parents, my mum, everyone had to graft their way to get wherever it was.”

Things weren’t easy for the family and when Gigne was 18, Michelle was forced to sell the family home and move somewhere cheaper. Instead of joining them, the then-teen moved in with his Nana round the corner to ease the pressure.

As a result, Ginge says his aim from the outset was to make his mum proud. He concluded: “She told me I’d done that…but then she also said: ‘I was already proud of you…you didn’t need to go on the show to do that.”

Ginge has, meanwhile, since returned to social media as he woke up his his hotel room with his floral crown, presented by last year’s King of the Jungle Danny Jones during I’m A Celeb’s live final, still on his head.

He beamed for the camera before heading to the airport, where he’ll return to Manchester for the first time since early November. Sharing videos with fellow northerner Lisa Riley, Ginge still had his crown fixed to his head, saying he was hoping he could get in through security – despite previous winners saying they had to give back theirs.
