I’m A Celebrity’s Angry Ginge was crowned 2025 King of the Jungle on Sunday night, but will not receive a cash prize for winning, while he also has to hand back his crown

I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’s Angry Ginge emerged victorious as King of the Jungle on Sunday, 7 December. The 24-year-old streamer and YouTuber, who built his following through football content and fiery online rants and has amassed more than 1.4 million followers on Twitch and 900,000 subscribers on the latter platform, won over viewers during three weeks in the jungle.
The content creator from Salford triumphed over Celebs Go Dating’s Tom Read Wilson and former EastEnders star Shona McGarty, who finished as runners-up in second and third place respectively. Angry Ginge, whose real name is real name Morgan Burtwistle, took over the crown from outgoing champion, McFly’s Danny Jones.

And like Danny, Angry Ginge is required to surrender his floral crown and wooden sceptre before leaving Australia for the UK. Previous I’m A Celeb winner Sam Thompson revealed how he too had to relinquish the ceremonial items, leaving him with “nothing to show” for his triumph.
During an appearance on This Morning, said: “I didn’t get to keep anything. They wouldn’t let me keep anything.”
The show winner also doesn’t received any cash prize for their victory, as contestants are paid predetermined appearance fees ranging from tens of thousands to over £1m, based on their celebrity status, reports the Liverpool Echo.

All contestants receive this fee as long as they stay in the jungle for a minimum of 72 hours, regardless of where they finish in the public vote. Shona is estimated to have earned around £95,000 for the show, Tom is in the region of £60,000 to £80,000 and Angry Ginge is believed to have pocketed £100,000 for his appearance.
Angry Ginge said: “I didn’t do it to become King. I did it for the experience.” His sister, Tasha Burtwistle, said for him to be on a show was a bucket-list moment. She told the BBC: “I knew it was on his bucket list, something he never thought he’d actually get to do, so I was just really happy for him.”
Ginge won 53 per cent of the I’m A Celebrity vote when it was down a final three. Celebs Go Dating receptionist Tom Read Wilson had 25 per cent, followed by EastEnders star Shona McGarty with 22 per cent.
After Shona had finished in third place, Ginge received 65 per cent of the vote to be this year’s winner, with Tom receiving 35 per cent.
