Acclaimed, Emmy-nominated thriller Paradise has released a high-stake trailer for season 2, confirming when fans will get to watch the new episodes.

Set in a city-size bunker, political thriller Paradise takes place three years after a mysterious doomsday event as a secret agent tries to uncover the truth behind the murder of the US president.

Sterling K Brown stars as protagonist Xavier Collins alongside Julianne Nicholson as Samantha ‘Sinatra’ Redmond, the world’s richest woman who calls the shots in the bunker.

Season 2 is set to premiere on 23 February next year, with Shailene Woodley joining the cast in an undisclosed role. In the teaser, Woodley’s character is seen in the outside world, with all clues pointing to her and Xavier crossing paths.

The new instalment will see Xavier searching for his wife, Teri (Enuka Okuma), who’s presumed dead in season 1.

“I need to find my wife,” Xavier says in a voiceover in the teaser while he’s trapped in the cockpit of a crashed plane.

“In season 2, Xavier searches for Teri out in the world and learns how people survived the three years since The Day,” the synopsis for the new episodes reads.

“Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of season 1, and new secrets are uncovered about the city’s origins.”

As the series seems to have answered all questions about the creation of the bunker in season 1, more mysteries remain to be unveiled in the new chapter.

“It was never just about the bunker,” Nicholson’s Sinatra says in the final scene of the trailer.

Creator Dan Fogelman, who also developed This Is Us starring Brown as Randall, promises more sci-fi elements in round 2.

“It’s fair to say we solved all the questions about what the bunker is and why it was created in season 1, but there’s kind of a deepening of it as you get into season 2 and what’s really behind it all,” he told Deadline.

“There’s more science fiction in it in the second season intentionally than even was in the first. And that involves climate change and science and the things that were coming behind it.”

Paradise, which sits at 86% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, was branded “the most exciting new drama series of 2025” by SSG Syndicate.

The series also stars Sarah Shahi as psychotherapist Gabriela Torabi, Nicole Brydon Bloom as Jane Driscoll, a special agent with the president’s Secret Service detail, and James Marsden as Cal Bradford, the US president who’s found murdered and is seen in flashbacks.

Paradise season 2 premieres on 23 February 2026 on Disney+ in the UK and Hulu in the US. Season 1 is streaming on the same platforms now.
