A new report on the upcoming Spider-Man 4 has potentially shed some light on who Sadie Sink’s mysterious character will be.

Who might Sadie Sink be playing in Spider-Man 4?

In a recent post on X, The Den of Nerds creator Josh Lucas adamantly noted that Sink would be playing none other than the X-Men’s Jean Grey in the movie. Lucas was so sure of this that he said that anyone saying otherwise is “wrong.”

When asked about potential rumors that Sink would be playing the character Shathra, Lucas said that he believes that rumor was always a misdirection. Lucas went on to note that he has only heard this from one source, but that it is a “great” source.

I’m fairly confident Shathra was a misdirection by Marvel

I have a great source on it, but it’s only ONE source on it… I believe others genuinely believe the lies Marvel is feeding them… Of course I could be wrong, BUT I’m confident enough to get out here and make a big fuss

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously helmed the MCU film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which was released in 2021. Cretton was also attached to direct the fourth Avengers movie for a time, back when it was called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but stepped down from the position in November 2023.

The movie will once again be led by Tom Holland as he reprises his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Emmy winner Zendaya and Jacob Batalo are also expected to return for the sequel.

They will be joined by cast members Sadie Sink (Stranger Things), Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear), Jon Bernthal, and Tillman, among others. The movie is produced by Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal, Rachel O’Connor, and Avi Arad.

Spider-Man 4 will be released in U.S. theaters on July 31, 2026, ahead of Avengers: Doomsday (December 18, 2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (December 17, 2027).
