BRISTOL, Tenn. (WCYB) — The nation’s only manufacturer of the antibiotic amoxicillin is expanding its workforce.
U.S. Antibiotics, located in Bristol, Tennessee, held a job fair as the company looks to hire additional employees for both manufacturing and administrative roles.
Company officials say they currently employ about 88 people but need to grow their staff as production increases and long-term demand rises.
John Latimer, Human Resources Director for U.S. Antibiotics, said the company is preparing for possible future federal contracts:
“With the future potential to have a government contract to be providing to the government more medicine, we’re looking to make sure we’ve got the staff in place to meet the supply or the demand that is being demanded at this time.”
