League One champions North Wales Crusaders have secured the signing of former Hull KR and Castleford Tigers winger Greg Eden.
The signing of Eden comes as a big boost for the Crusaders, who will be looking to make an impact on their first season back in the second tier. The winger spent last season with Hunslet, where he worked under Dean Muir and the move ensures the pair will be reunited, with Muir taking on the head coach role at the club.
The 35-year-old certainly knows his way to the try line and in 238 professional games, he has scored more than 160 tries.
His brightest spell as a player came during his second spell with Castleford, touching down on 111 occasions in 119 games. Eden started his career with the Tigers, but he moved on to join Huddersfield Giants before got the chance to establish himself at his hometown club.
A move to Hull KR followed in 2013, where he spent two seasons, before he got the opportunity to move down under with Brisbane Broncos.
He made seven appearances for the Broncos and that includes a run out in the 2016 World Club Challenge against Wigan Warriors, a game in which he scored in as Brisbane won 42-12.
Following the end of his second stint at Castleford in 2023, Eden moved on to Halifax Panthers, Featherstone Rovers and, of course, Hunslet.
Greg Eden on joining North Wales Crusaders
“Excited for the new challenge with a bunch of blokes that seemed to have a great year last year,” Eden said after signing for Crusaders.
“Build on that with the newly formed league and it will be great to link back up with Dean after working along side him last year”.
Head coach Muir said: “I’m looking forward to working with Greg again. His experience will really help some of our younger boys out.
“He is a perfect fit for our group. He has the ability to play in a variety of positions and gives us options across the back line. He is a natural try scorer and gives us a real threat”.
The Crusaders have also signed former Warrington Wolves youngsters Junior Westwood and Jake Nottingham, who have both represented Wales at youth level.
