Coronation Street fans are convinced that Becky Swain’s “days are numbered” on the ITV soap. The controversial former policewoman arrived in Weatherfield earlier this year, having come back from the dead after it was thought she had been killed in the line of duty four years ago.
In actual fact, she had been living in Spain as part of a corrupt police cover-up. Lisa and Carla recently bought number six with Lisa’s daughter Betsy, and their romance has enthralled viewers, leading them to become a social media sensation known as Swarla, although Becky has become hellbent on getting her family back together ever since she arrived. Carla called time on her relationship with Lisa, but they all still live under the same roof, and Becky also moved into the house after continuously claiming that there was a gang after her life.
Lisa’s boss DI Costello was the one who orchestrated the whole cover-up in the first place, and he was put in in intensive care after suffering an attack. Becky was unsuccessful in her attempt to kill Costello, and in the latest instalment of programme , Carla had had enough after Becky tried to make Christmas plans with Lisa.

When Carla was at work, Kit Green called round to number six to inform his colleague Lisa was planning on retiring. Nervously, Becky replied: “Really? Where did you hear that?” and he said: “I overheard his wife and daughter talking about it in the hospital. Why wouldn’t he tell us? It doesn’t make sense!” Becky protested that it was “private information,” but Kit simply said he was simply going to look for more information.
Kit called round to the factory to see Carla, who was drinking her problems away. He told Carla: “Costello was planning on retiring, but he changed his plans. They changed his plans about the same time Becky rocked up. It’s a bit of a coincidence, don’t you think?” Carla started to realise that Becky and Costello had been in cahoots, and was left reeling as she put two and two together. Kit then told Becky out on the street about Carla, and she instantly went round to see her.
Carla asked her: “What if had picked me?” and Becky told her she would never have given up. Carla hit back: “She didn’t want you!” before Becky told her to stay away from her number six. When Carla protested that it was her house, Becky said: “Well, Lisa needs to move on, reconnect with her family. With you hanging around, that’s not going to help, is it?
“Better yet, get yourself off to the canaries. Two weeks on a beach will help you get over your breakup!” Carla sheepishly agreed, but once Becky had gone, she paid a visit to the hospital to visit a comatose Costello. He started to stir, and Carla begged him for sort of answers.

She said: “I think Becky Swain was behind your attack.” Costello confirmed she was, and when she asked for evidence, Costello mumbled: “Hill” before going back to sleep,” and Kit watched on from the doorway.
Looking at Carla’s notes she had taken from Costello, Kit said: “You sure? Hill and Rhubarb?” She replied: “That’s what I heard. It was pretty hard to hear anything. It must be linked to Becky because that’s who I was talking about. He did seem out of it.”
In the end, Kit was determined to carry on and Carla told him to go on without her because she had simply “had enough” of the whole situation. Fans of the Manchester-based serial quickly flooded social media with their reaction as the fan-favourites seemed to edge that little bit closer to unravelling the mystery of Becky.
One wrote: “This was so hard to watch .. Lisa’s so checked out and Carla’s alone in the trenches again Can we fast forward to the end already? this is exhausting,” and another said: “days are numbered for this little t*** Becky and her constant “remember when..” throwbacks, and i cannot wait to see her face when it all comes crashing down around her. she never deserved lisa’s love for 20 minutes never mind 20 years.”
A third raged: “Did I hear that right?! Becky told Carla to stay away from the house that she purchased and owns half of?! No it’s you that needs to stay away from No.6.” and a fourth questioned: “how will lisa think carla left the country without saying goodbye or packing her bags if they live in the same house?”
