Star India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has given a massive shoutout to his girlfriend, Mahieka Sharma, saying that she has been amazing ever since the duo began dating, adding that several ‘great’ things have happened since then. The duo’s relationship has been the talk of the town over the past two months.
Pandya’s comeback from a nearly two-month absence because of a left quadriceps injury powered India to a commanding 101-run victory over South Africa in the opening T20I in Cuttack on Tuesday.
Pandya made the most of his time away from cricket as well, spending it with his family and Mahieka. It was during this break that their relationship became public, first sparked by sightings of the pair at Mumbai airport in October and later confirmed when they shared pictures from a beach holiday.
“Injuries test you mentally and put a lot of doubt in your mind. A lot of credit for a successful comeback goes to my loved ones. A special mention to my partner, she has been nothing but the best to me since she entered my life,” Pandya said while speaking to BCCI.Â
“A lot of great things have happened since she arrived,” Pandya said.
The star Indian allrounder’s on-field heroics came just hours after he called out sections of the paparazzi for circulating pictures and videos of Mahieka online. He requested media outlets to respect personal boundaries, expressing disappointment over what he called an invasion of privacy after viral footage of Mahieka leaving a restaurant in Mumbai.
Pandya’s first public appearance with Mahieka in October came just months after his amicable separation from former wife Natasha Stankovic. Their divorce last year attracted significant attention, but Pandya stressed that the decision was mutual and that both remain committed to co-parenting their son, Agastya.
