The DWP doesn’t process payments on bank holidays so money will instead be sent to these households early, on Friday, August 22.
All DWP payments due on the bank holiday will be affected including Universal Credit, Pension Credit and PIP, as well as the state pension.
Everyone else whose payment dates don’t fall on the bank holiday won’t be affected and should get their payments as normal.
Those getting paid early are warned they will need to make their money go further than usual, until their next payment date.
So it’s important to plan ahead for this and ensure enough money is left in accounts to cover bills.
