Conor McGregor has finally married long-time partner Dee Devlin in an intimate Vatican ceremony

Conor McGregor wed long-term partner Dee Devlin on Friday after lengthy deliberations over choosing the perfect venue. The MMA fighter proposed to his other half five years ago in 2020.
But only now have they finally tied the knot at the Vatican. McGregor previously told the Irish Mirror about his preference for a Dublin ceremony, though it seemed Dee had other plans.
He said: “My lady is my long-time lady. We are set to get married soon, we are just trying to find a location. I am ready to go; we are just trying to get a location.
“Is it at home? I’d like for it to be at home. We are deciding on a location. Hopefully, we get the marriage done, and that is what I’m looking forward to. These are the decisions we have.
“I go between do we want an extreme and extravagant. It will be extravagant and I will spare no cost for sure for my lady and my family but is it invite everyone or is it private, these are the things we are trying to figure out.
“We are private people but we wouldn’t like to do it and think we should have done it a bit bigger. So we are in decision mode at moment, but let’s see, things are good. But that’s my lady all the way, the highs or lows before all of this.”

Reports suggested Dee had dreamed of exchanging vows in the historic Sistine Chapel, but the Vatican forbids wedding ceremonies taking place in the iconic venue. A close source said: “Conor and Dee want to get married before Christmas and are planning a wedding at the Vatican in Rome. They are both staunch Catholics and it is their dream to wed there.
“They ideally would like to marry in the Sistine Chapel but it is not allowed, so they may have to settle for the Cappella del Caro which can accommodate 100 people beside St Peter’s Basilica. It is all hush hush at the moment, but December 12 is the date mentioned, so we will have to wait and see.”
The 37-year-old has now finally tied the knot with Dee in an intimate service held at the Chiesa di Santo Stefano Degli Abissini, located directly behind St Peter’s Basilica.
Vatican sources told the Irish Independent that the Church of St Stephen of the Abyssinians served as the official location for this event. Marriage ceremonies within Vatican City are exceptionally rare and are only permitted under very particular circumstances, requiring special approval from the authorities.
However, concerns were raised about the wedding following McGregor’s numerous scandals. In 2024, a jury at Dublin’s High Court ruled in a civil case that he was liable for sexually assaulting a woman at a city hotel in 2018.

The MMA fighter denied the allegation, maintaining he had consensual sex with Nikita Hand. Ms Hand received £214,994 in damages and McGregor was also instructed to cover approximately £1.1million in legal expenses.
Earlier this month, the Supreme Court dismissed the Irishman’s appeal against the civil verdict, ruling that he had received a fair hearing and confirming that no further appeals would be permitted.
Dee supported McGregor throughout the proceedings and took to social media to express her faith in her now-husband. She said: “My man and I have created a beautiful life together. I love him I trust him and I BELIEVE HIM!
“Our four beautiful children whose smiling faces and happy hearts are testimony to the man he is and who we are! No one is entitled to comment on our relationship- we trust one another and love one another. Nothing or nobody will change that. Our family stands strong!”
The couple initially met in 2008 at a nightclub where Dee was employed, and they have four children together – sons Conor Jack McGregor Jr, Rian, and Mack, and daughter Croia.
