A Coronation Street actor has received an outpouring of support following the ‘toughest week of their life’.

Adam Rickitt, who portrayed Nick Tilsley on the popular ITV soap, first appeared in 1997 and quickly became a hit with viewers.

However, Adam left the programme in 1999 to embark on a pop career, but returned to the cobbles for another two-year run from 2002 to 2004. Since leaving, Adam has remained active, featuring in shows such as Hollyoaks and BBC’s Doctors.

Outside of his acting career, Adam is married to Good Morning Britain presenter Katy Rickitt. The couple first crossed paths when Katy interviewed Adam on GMB in 2011.

They exchanged vows in a winter wonderland-themed wedding in December 2014. However, this week, they shared the devastating news that their cherished dog Daphne had died, reports the Mirror.

On Saturday (December 12), Katy provided an update on their situation, commending Adam for dedicating himself to his professional obligations despite the recent family loss.
