As part of its festive support programme, Uber will provide employees with an NHS email address £10 off two Uber rides, along with a £10 Uber Eats voucher for meals or groceries.

The initiative, now in its ninth year, is part of an effort to recognise and assist thousands of healthcare workers who spend their holiday caring for patients.

Uber added that “the campaign aims to ease the burden on staff working over the festive period, many of whom rely on taxis due to limited public transport on Christmas Day.”

Steve Bater, money saving expert at NHS Discount Offers, said: “We are all indebted to the incredible NHS and HSC workers who selflessly care for the nation over the festive season.

“This initiative by Uber is a simple but meaningful way of acknowledging just how grateful we all are for the vital work healthcare staff do both at Christmas and throughout the year.”

Eligible staff must make sure their Uber account is linked to their official NHS or HSC email address by 23:59 on Sunday, December 21 to receive a unique promotional code via email, which can be redeemed on Christmas Day.

The company has confirmed that these codes must be redeemed on Thursday, December 25.
