Is it that time of year again already? A few months ago Olivia
Rodrigo and The 1975 were headlining Glastonbury, the Lionesses retained their
European championship title, oh, and some band called Oasis got back together
for a few (quite successful) gigs.

Then the nights start drawing in and the next thing you know
you’ve scrolled through your phone for every variation of cooking a turkey and then all of a sudden – it’s time to find out who this year’s Christmas
number one will be.

As always, Jack Saunders will be here to count you down
through this year’s festive – and non-festive – contenders, and we’ll have more
from him in a moment about what to expect this afternoon – and he’ll be live
from 15:00 GMT.

Ahead of the chart we’ve got a live stream for you, hosted
by Lilah Parsons, she’ll also be along in a second to give you more information
on that.

We’ll also have all your favourite BBC News and Radio 1
presenters reminiscing about their favourite Christmas songs and number one
predictions, and all the trivia and analysis you could want. It’s going to be a
real Christmas cracker.

I’ll be on my way to the Radio 1 studio shortly to bring you
all the vibes from the eighth floor, and all you have to do is grab a mince pie
and settle in as we take you through (what is hopefully) your last afternoon at
work, or the end of your last day of school for a bit.

Here it is, merry Christmas, let’s all have some fun.
