Springbok flyhalf Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu has reportedly made a huge call on his immediate future.

According to Netwerk24, the Stormers are closing in on a long-term extension that will keep the 23-year-old in Cape Town until 2029, with an official announcement expected in the coming days.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu is currently contracted until 2027, but negotiations around an improved deal accelerated rapidly following his remarkable rise over the past year. While a general agreement had been in place for some time, his signature was only finalised after further discussions.

If confirmed, the deal would represent a major coup for the Stormers, who would secure one of the most in-demand young playmakers in world rugby and anchor their long-term plans around a player widely viewed as a generational talent.

The flyhalf’s stock has soared after a dream season in green and gold, where he established himself as South Africa’s first-choice No.10. His record-breaking 37-point performance in the Springboks’ emphatic 67–30 win over Argentina in Durban was a defining moment, underlining his growing authority at Test level.

The new contract is reportedly worth close to £800,000, placing Feinberg-Mngomezulu among the world’s best-paid players and helping fend off strong interest from France and elsewhere.

While the Stormers have yet to confirm the deal, all indications suggest the waiting game is nearly over, with Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s future set to remain firmly rooted in Cape Town.
