Avengers: Doomsday’s fourth teaser trailer has received a somewhat disappointing, albeit mysterious, update.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday is currently in post-production. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, also known as the Russo Brothers, the movie will be released in one year. The sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, follows in December 2027.
The first teaser trailer for Avengers: Doomsday is now playing in front of James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash. According to reports, new Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailers will continue to be attached to Avatar: Fire and Ash in the coming weeks. The second one reportedly focuses on Thor, while the third centers on Doctor Doom.
What is the update on the Avengers: Doomsday teaser trailer?
While many assumed the fourth and final Avengers: Doomsday teaser will be a full-on trailer, scooper Daniel Richtman said this won’t be the case. Richtman didn’t elaborate any further, meaning it’s anybody’s guess what the fourth teaser trailer will focus on.
The first teaser reveals that Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers is returning to the MCU. The footage doesn’t offer many details regarding how this is possible; rather, it simply shows Steve — presumably in the timeline he traveled to in Avengers: Doomsday — with a young child. Just because Steve is back doesn’t mean he’ll be suiting up as Captain America, though, as there have been many reports suggesting that he’ll instead be going by Nomad.
The cast of Avengers: Doomsday also includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, and Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, among others.
Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday arrives on December 18, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars is dated for December 17, 2027.
