NBC host Jimmy Fallon was caught using the same joke about New York City Mayor Elect Zohran Mamdani three times in a matter of days.
The late night star made the comparable cracks on December 9, December 16, and December 17.
Fallon, 51, appeared to not notice the repetition.
‘It was so cold in New York City this morning, walking to work, I saw a Wall Street stockbroker spooning with Zohran Mamdani,’ the first rendition went.
‘It is so cold in New York, I saw a Wall Street stockbroker spooning with Zohran Mamdani,’ Fallon said again a week later – leading some to wonder whether or not it was a callback.
But the joke reared its not-so-funny head again the following night.
And his time, Fallon delivered the set-up – and punchline – as if it were off-the-cuff.
‘It is so cold, walking to work, I saw a Wall Street stockbroker spooning with Zohran Mamdani,’ he said once more – once again to laughs.

LateNighter was first to report on the repetition. A compilation posted by the publication to X quickly racked up more than two million views.
All three instances occurred in Fallon’s monologues.
The recycled joke lampooned Mandani’s already tenuous relationship with New York City business leaders.
The 33-year-old former state assemblyman promised to raised the corporate tax rate repeatedly during his whirlwind campaign.
A revenue proposal he penned further recommends an additional 2 percent tax on income that exceeds $1million.Â
He has also vowed to clamp down on billionaires, pledges that helped him to an upset over ex-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo in November.
New York’s first Muslim mayor, Mamdani is set to be sworn in next month.
His director of appointments, Catherine Almonte Da Costa, already resigned on Thursday, after it was revealed she made antisemitic social media posts more than 10 years ago.
‘It is so cold in New York, I saw a Wall Street stockbroker spooning with Zohran Mamdani,’ Fallon said of the New York City mayor elect that day – before repeating nearly identical versions of the joke twice more this week
Many Jewish New Yorkers and the Democratic party were hesitant to embrace Mamdani due to his outspoken support for Palestine.
Fallon is a far less political.
Professor Robert Thompson of Syracuse University told the Daily Mail in September that Fallon’s more outspoken counterpart Seth Meyers could be the next host to go after CBS announced the cancellation of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert.  Â
Je shared his gloomy forecast with the Daily Mail shortly after Jimmy Kimmel’s show was pulled over comments he made about Charlie Kirk.
‘There is a theme going on here,’ Thompson said, poining to what he framed as a clear shift away from the politically charged jokes popularized over the past ten years.
‘Meyers is the one guy doing this type of comedy who hasn’t been fired yet. These last stories indicate that era is over,’ Thompson said.
Colbert’s show will air its final episode in May. Kimmel signed a contract extension earlier this month.
