Tributes are being paid to the popular actor Lorraine Cheshire, who has sadly died.

She was best known for her roles in the Sky TV sitcom Trollied, the hit BBC sitcom Early Doors and school-based drama Waterloo Road. It’s understood the Wythenshawe-born actress was 65 and passed away on Friday.

Her partner, John, announced her death on social media, with tributes hailing her a ‘wonderful talent’. Actress Faye McKeever, who stared alongside Cheshire in Trollied, posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram.

She said: “Laughing with Lozza in unison will always be one of my favourite memories. I will forever be thankful of the Trollied day and the endless fun we used to share. Boy did we belly laugh. Whenever she started it would set me off, and vice versa. Thinking of John and Carly at this very sad time. Rest in peace Lozza.”

My heart goes out to John and all that knew her. This week is awful, just hell on earth. Please give your loved ones the biggest squeeze tonight. REST IN POWER YOU ABSOLUTE QUEEN.”
