Two Irish junior riders have been confirmed on the roster of the newly created British-based junior team that will effectively be the junior development squad – or “pathway” – for World Tour team Ineos Grenadiers.

The move to get heavily involved with the junior team – which is an amalgamation of two top British junior set-ups – follows confirmation by the British World Tour team it will have an U23 Devo team next year; Ineos Grenadiers Racing Academy.

The junior team will be known as ‘cams majaco’ following the merger of Tofauti Everyone Active Majaco and Fensham Howes-MAS-CAMS; the latter counting Tom Pidcock as a former rider.

Indeed, Pidcock’s father, Giles Pidcock, has run that team for years and he is one of the managment figures of cams majaco, which sounds like a fantastic opportunity for the lucky juniors who had made the grade for next year.

Both Shane O’Brien and Emer Heverin had already signed for Tofauti Everyone Active Majaco, which has had Irish riders on its roster before, including Aliyah Rafferty, Lucy Bénézet Minns and Ella Tandy.

Irish juniors O’Brien and Rafferty are now part of the new cams majaco roster for next year, which includes 21 riders for the 2026 campaign.

“Excited to announce a deep collaboration with Ineos Grenadiers as we become their pathway partner,” camsmajaco said in a brief statement today confirming the new relationship.

“Representing the first support of a female team from the Grenadiers, this important step will allow us to continue to create the best opportunities for talented young British and Irish riders.”

Ineos Grenadiers said of the new relationship: “This collaboration will create a new talent pathway for young British cyclists and sits within the Ineos Grenadiers’ talent programme, which includes a development partnership with North America’s most successful U19 outfit, Hot Tubes Development Cycling Team.”

Ineos Grenadiers director of racing, Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas, described the new partnership as “a really important part of our talent identification and development program”.

“The best young British riders will now be able to access the support of the Ineos Grenadiers and Ineos Grenadiers Racing Academy, while continuing to benefit from two outstanding junior programs. This is exactly the kind of start these young riders need.”
