Christmas is nearly here and with it comes changes to bin collections.
Preston City Council has now explained its plans for the festive period, which include some changes to waste collection and some recycling collections being skipped.
Anyone whose bins are affected should have had a sticker placed on their bin to inform them of changes, but you can also get the information below.

The council says that alternate-week collections will continue over the Christmas period, with most collections being unaffected. However, your bin collection may be affected if it is on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, or New Years Day.
If your property is affected by the Christmas period, your bin will be stickered to notify you of any changes to your collection. You can check whether your home is affected using the council’s search function here.
The council says it is unable to rearrange recycling collections that are affected over the Christmas period and that all recycling will be collected on the next scheduled collection instead. This means for some properties there is a 28-day gap in recycling collections.
Extra recycling can be placed next to recycling bins in untied carrier bags, according to the city council, but people are asked to make sure any cardboard boxes are folded flat.
Garden waste collections – which is a charged-for service and the brown bins – stopped on December 12 and will resume on January 12.
