It’s a Christmas miracle! Abi (Sally Carman-Duttine) has finally figured out that Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) is a dirtbag!
At least that’s what it looks like in this sneak-peak video clip.
It’s hard to feel sorry for Abi. Coronation Street viewers were fuming to see her embark on a steamy affair with her husband Kevin Webster’s (Michael Le Vell) no good half-brother, and they were practically tearing their hair out when she actually decided to officially make a go of things philandering mechanic, giving poor Kev yet another reason to wear that trademark glower of his.
Because let’s face it. Carl’s no catch. Not only is he taking advantage of his half-sister Debbie’s (Sue Devaney) dementia just to get his hands on her cash, but he was secretly responsible for the hit-and-run that left Tyrone Tobbs (Alan Halsall) confined to a wheelchair.

However, despite those shortcomings, you have to admire the man’s time management skills – while he was having an affair with Abi, he was also doing the dirty with James Bailey (Jason Callender). Where does he get the stamina? Betty’s hotpots?
Although James cooled things off with Carl once his affair with Abi was exposed, you can’t keep a dirty dog down for long and they soon re-ignited things.
Corrie Fans may have the Worst Webster pegged as a dirty rotten scoundrel, but Abi’s been clinging to the delusion that she can play happy families with her new man and her son Alfie – even though Carl’s not been particular keen to move in with them.

But that delusion is set to come crashing down in this video clip of an upcoming episode, where Abi is being distinctly frosty with Carl because he’s on Boxing Day.
Once Carl’s left, Abi has a run-in with James’ brother Michael. And in a scene I’m eighty percent sure they ripped off from Love Actually, she recognises the necklace he is wearing and it sows seeds of infidelity.
Whilst Michael explains she and James got them as a Christmas present from their mum, Abi’s mind whirs. She’s seen that necklace somewhere before.
Has she just rumbled Carl’s affair?
