Dave Allen has made it clear what he thinks would have happened if Oleksandr Usyk and prime Mike Tyson were ever to have met in the ring.
For many people, Usyk is one of the greatest to ever do it. The Ukrainian had a fine amateur career that ended with him becoming an Olympic gold medallist back at the London Games in 2012.
Six years after that, he cleaned out the cruiserweight division to become an undisputed champion and then kept on breaking records when he moved up to heavyweight.
By 2024, he had beaten every man he faced, including a pair of victorious over Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to become the undisputed star of the banner division, then he beat Daniel Dubois for a second time to become a two-time undisputed ruler.
As for American boxing legend Tyson, he still holds the record for being the youngest ever world heavyweight champion and at the start of his career ‘Iron Mike’ went on a ferocious run of knockouts that assured this place in the history books.
Speaking to Mail Sport Boxing for a round of winner says on, popular heavyweight Allen was asked who would come out on top between these two legendary names.
“Usyk.”
Usyk has not fought since he stopped Dubois for a second time back in August, but has declared that next time out, he wants to take on American puncher Deontay Wilder.
As for the retired Tyson, his last ill-fated trip to the ring was as a 58-year-old in 2024 when he lost a wide points decision to Jake Paul.
