As Corriedale fast approaches, one Coronation Street actor confessed he was thrilled to finally experience filming an Emmerdale stunt.
Jack P Shepherd, who plays David Platt on Corrie, took a hilarious swipe at his own soap as he confessed Emmerdale could “show them how it’s done”. The star is one of a number of cast members who feature in the special crossover.
A multi-vehicle pile-up on a dark and stormy road sees lives on the line, storylines reach a climax and characters from both soaps collide. But for Jack, he was excited to finally have a go at a big stunt, claiming Emmerdale do it better than Corrie.
He explained: “All the years that we’ve watched Emmerdale’s stunts, they’ve always gone down in history as being better than ours. It was nice to finally work with them, so that they could show us exactly how to do it.

“I’ve always thought their stunts were better than ours.” He also teased what fans can expect as the two soaps collide. Jack, 37, shared: “It was good, there’s lots of car crashes and I think it looked great. I did that little run towards all the flames.”
Jack may be left disappointed though, and fans too, as Corrie and Emmerdale boss Iain MacLeod has ruled out a future crossover. Iain told The Mirror: “People love Corrie and people love Emmerdale and their distinct entities.
“They have their own tone of voice and their own sense of humour and their way of telling stories, and they wouldn’t blend long-term at all. “I think it’s brilliant to bring them together for this, but no, there are no plans to do anything similar in the future. Sorry to be the killjoy, those of you who were hoping there was [more].”

Meanwhile, Jack’s Corriedale co-star Danny Miller, who plays Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle, confessed he was told by a member of the public that the crossover “won’t work”. He urged fans to give the episode a chance before making a judgement.
He shared: “I had one guy in the M62 service station who said to me, ‘I don’t think it’s going to work.’ And I said, what do you do for a living, and he noticed the problem, by the way, when he said I’m an HGV driver.
“So I just kind of joked and said, well I wouldn’t tell you how to drive an HGB. I thought it was really interesting that nobody’s seen it, nobody knows what the script is, but they don’t think it’s going to work.” Jack then admitted of the driver: “He said the same thing to me!”
