Daisy Ridley has stated to Parade that, while progress on the forthcoming movie set in the New Jedi Order movie is slow, it is moving forward. Meanwhile, she also has praises for the Star Wars: Starfighter ensemble, adding that Lucasfilm is very high on it.

On the press tour for her new movie We Bury The Dead, Daisy Ridley reaffirmed that progress on her Star Wars movie is still going forward despite the lack of a release date as of right now:

“It will arrive when it’s ready, and it will be worth the wait.”

Starfighter is set 5 years after The Rise of Skywalker, while the New Jedi Order film is apparently set 15 years after the end of the sequel trilogy — or so said Lucasfilm at the time of the announcement. Daisy Ridley hyped up the former, adding:

“[I am] really looking forward to seeing [Starfighter]. I think that will be great! Such a brilliant group of actors. I saw [Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy] recently and asked how it was going, and she said it was amazing.”

Star Wars: Starfighter wrapped shooting earlier in December and is scheduled for release on May 28, 2027. It was directed by Shawn Levy and written by Jonathan Tropper. Ryan Gosling and Flynn Gray are the leads, with Matt Smith, Aaron Pierre, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, and Amy Adams rounding up the starry cast.

Meanwhile, the film that is tentatively titled Star Wars: New Jedi Order, and would star Daisy Ridley as Rey, still does not have a release date (or a firm production schedule). Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is directing, with George Nolfi penning the latest draft, following Steven Knight’s departure from the project over a year ago.

The next Star Wars film set for release is The Mandalorian and Grogu, out on May 22, 2026.
