Check out our player ratings from Manchester United’s final match before the New Year.
Manchester United were unable to record back-to-back wins in the Premier League by drawing 1-1 with Wolves at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, with a poor performance against the worst team in the division.
Ruben Amorim made one change to his team after United’s 1-0 win over Newcastle on Boxing Day, with Joshua Zirkzee replacing the injured Mason Mount.
That change was rewarded in the 27th minute when Zirkzee found the back of the net after his strike took a lucky deflection, but a lot of the hard work was done by Ayden Heaven, who won back possession before creating the chance.

Boos rang around Old Trafford at the break before Wolves levelled through Ladislav Krejci in the 45th minute.
With nothing to shout about in the second half, a painful aftermath is expected for Amorim after United wasted another opportunity to edge closer to the top four.
Here is a look at how we rated the players…

Senne Lammens made a crucial save to stop Hugo Bueno before the break when he stopped an effort on goal with his strong left foot, but the clean sheet was taken from him minutes later when Krejci scored from a powerful header. The young Belgian goalkeeper made a full-stretch save to deny Wolves after the hour mark.
Ayden Heaven – 7
Following a masterclass performance against Newcastle, Heaven played a decisive role in United’s opener against Wolves when he cleverly intercepted South Korean forward Hwang Hee-chan before creating the chance. Carried out his defensive responsibilities superbly.
Lisandro Martinez (C) – 6
Not at his best on the ball. United’s forward players didn’t receive enough balls from Lisandro Martinez because the Argentine spent more time passing to his defensive partners.
Luke Shaw – 6
United came dangerously close to scoring from Luke Shaw’s corners on more than one occasion, but unfortunately, none of them hit the back of the net. He was kept busy defensively.
Diogo Dalot – 5
Average at best with little impact in the final third, although Diogo Dalot made an important intervention in the final 20 minutes to force a corner.
Casemiro – 5
Scruffy performance from Casemiro. Rather than grab the game by the scruff of the neck, the Brazilian veteran had too many unnecessary wayward passes.

Manuel Ugarte – 4
United lacked control in the middle of the pitch, and Manuel Ugarte didn’t help.
Patrick Dorgu – 5
Amorim decided to play Patrick Dorgu on the left, even though it was from the right wing that he devastated Newcastle just days ago. Didn’t hurt Wolves as much as he should have.
Joshua Zirkzee – 6
Provided the first spark of the game with a bit of fortune before the half-hour mark when Joshua Zirkzee’s strike took a deflection past the Wolves goalkeeper. It was his second goal of the season for United. Taken off at half-time.
Matheus Cunha – 5
Little impact against his former side, but Matheus Cunha still looked like United’s liveliest player in attack, especially in the second half. There was just no end product.
Benjamin Sesko – 6
Bright display from the Slovenian. Benjamin Sesko had some lovely touches, and he looked like a striker who believes in his ability to lead the line. Unlucky not to score in the first half after two brilliant opportunities.
SubsJack Fletcher – 5
Coming on at half-time, Jack Fletcher appeared to struggle with the tempo of a Premier League fixture, but it’s still early days in his United career and patience is certainly warranted.
Leny Yoro – 6
Made an important interception when United were trying to mount attacks on Wolves just minutes after coming on. Leny Yoro is on a mission to get his place back in the team following Heaven’s re-emergence.
Bendito Mantato – 5
An incredible moment for the youngster as he came on to become United’s latest academy graduate. Unable to make any noteworthy contributions.
