A “hilarious” comedy film that stars an abundance of familiar faces is ready to watch on Netflix.

Following the Christmas period, subscribers are now starting to avoid the festive films and spend their time before the New Year watching some of their favourite movies.

One of them is a 2010 sci-fi comedy film which sees three friends going through some difficult times: Adam has been dumped, Nick is stuck in a job he hates and Lou is an out of control party animal.

After Lou tries to take his own life, they decide to go on holiday to a dilapidated ski resort, the home of the memorable Winterfest of 1986, a trip they continue to treasure.

Joined by Adam’s nephew Jacob, the group use a vintage hot tub in their hotel room but things take an unexpected turn when they spill an illegal energy drink onto the tub’s controls. It sees them transported back to Winterfest 1986 and despite being warned not to change anything, this soon goes out the window.

Starring as Adam in the hit comedy is actor John Cusack, famed for featuring in various 1980s films such as Sixteen Candles, Better Off Dead and Stand By Me.

He is joined by Bookie actor Rob Corddry as Lou, Kick-Ass star Clark Duke as Jacob and The Office legend Craig Robinson as Nick.

Hot Tub Time Machine’s cast is rounded-off by the festive icon Chevy Chase, best remembered for National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, who portrays the repairman who warns them of the hot tub.

While Hot Tub Time Machine has only scored an average 64% on Rotten Tomatoes, fans have been sharing how much they love the film in the comments section.

A number of fans labelled it an “all time favourite” with someone writing: “One of the funniest movies I’d ever seen”.

Another said: “Hilarious antics and non-stop fun and humor!”, while a fellow user posted: “This movie is a gloriously ridiculous blast from the past that never fails to make me laugh.”

“Laughed all the way through”, a viewer shared as someone else echoed: “To me, it’s one of the real last modern funny films of this century.”
