Koalas are known for their adorable looks and easygoing personalities, but even a laid-back animal can have a bad day. That seemed to be the case with a koala that Matt Little (@bogananimalwrangler) came across one night while trying to help it off the road. The stubborn little marsupial, however, didn’t appear too interested in being rescued by a stranger.
Unilad shared a video on Instagram showing Matt approaching a koala as it hung out on the roadside. They said in the video’s overlay that koalas have no business being so cute and so aggressive, and we can’t disagree! Be sure to turn your sound up so you can hear Matt’s hilarious conversation with the feisty koala.
He looks so cute standing up like that! We cracked up after reading Unilad’s caption, “The way he’s imitating the koala LOL!” If the koala wasn’t upset before that, we’re sure that Matt teasing it would’ve done the trick!

Funny Comments About the “Aggressive” Koala
Commenters got a kick out of the little koala trying to be scary, and some of them cracked us up. @tinkertink2024 pointed out, “The koala wasn’t ‘so aggressive’ at all…” @jtjohnson6537 replied, “No, he was. It’s just when it comes to aggression, koalas have two speeds: slow and stop.”
@Earthsapiens also wasn’t buying the aggression angle, “Aggression? A species that isn’t yours tries to touch you in the middle of the dark by the roadside, and what would you do? Sing? Are we in a Disney movie?” Another commenter agreed, ” Just try to imagine the encounter from the koala’s POV LOL!”
Commenter @reed.markham94 shared, “He’s just a scared little guy,” and @shony246 added what the koala was thinking, “Don’t touch me, bro!”
@floridaman74 admitted, “I would be the one getting clawed to death for picking it up. Lol!” Brittanica shared that koalas are not aggressive by nature and usually go out of their way to avoid contact with humans. They may become aggressive during mating season or if a koala feels threatened, is injured, or is distressed. “In these instances, a koala may hiss, snarl, or grunt as a warning or even bite or lash out with its claws, which can inflict significant harm when used as a means of defense.”
Long story short, if you ever come across a koala in the wild, enjoy watching them from afar and never approach any wild animal.
