Derby County are contemplating a move for LASK left-back George Bello, according to reports.

Transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke claims that the Rams are one of several clubs in the Championship and Scotland who are monitoring the defender after an impressive season in the Austrian Bundesliga.

The 23-year-old, who is a USA team-mate of Patrick Agyemang, has been in excellent form this season and has been voted into the team of mid-season.

Bello only signed a new contract earlier this year, but it’s claimed that a bid of £1.5m might be enough to tempt LASK to do business.

He has registered three assists and scored one goal this season with the Nigerian also having won seven caps for his country.

Bello has made 95 appearances for LASK having previoulsy had experience in the MLS with Atalanta before moving to German side Arminia Bielefeld for a fee exceeding £1m.

He then moved to LASK on a free transfer in 2023 and has impressed with his performances.

Callum Elder is currently Derby’s first-choice left-back owed to the fact that Owen Beck picked up a hamstring injury in pre-season.

The Liverpool defender needs surgery and has returned to Anfield with his loan set to be cut short officially next month.

Craig Forsyth is currently Elder’s back up with the Scot recently featuring in the 3-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday earlier this month.

Derby are set to add to the squad with Oscar Fraulo set to be the first signing of January with his move to Pride Park from Borussia Monchengladbach all but done bar official confirmation.
