I’m a ‘90s baby, so I grew up loving fitness classes.

I used to do Tae Bo in the living room with my sister. I’ve tried CrossFit. I’ve done kickboxing. I’ve run half marathons. But you want to know the one workout that really sealed the deal on my health and fitness goals? Boxing!

Now, I’m not Rocky Balboa. I’m talking about Rumble Boxing. Think less of punching people and more of punching bags. Rumble Boxing is if boxing and strength training had a baby.

For almost two years now, I’ve consistently gone to Rumble Boxing. I go about four to five times a week. I don’t go to any other fitness classes and I’m not a member at any gym like Retro or Planet Fitness.

See why this workout made all the difference for me!

I’ve been going since March 2024 and as we head into the new year, I’m ready to hit my 500th class at Rumble Boxing!

But let me rewind. What is Rumble Boxing?

Rumble’s about me section reads: “At its epicenter, Rumble is a collection of the most inspired and inspiring fitness instructors on the planet. Impressive athletes in their own regard, they step onto the podium at Rumble as part DJ, part motivational speaker and complete Master of Ceremony. The 45 minutes that follow are an awesome orchestration of a workout engineered to custom hip-hop and house mash-ups. The music, the lights, the program, and the collective heartbeat of the room all come together as if it was a collaboration from the beginning – as if Cardi B. wrote this song, for this moment, for you, to run this shit like cardio.”

I typically burn anywhere between 250 and 500 calories per Rumble class. The classes vary in focus, with a mix of full body-focused days, core-focused sessions, upper body classes and lower body workout days. I like that I can go four different days and get a workout that targets a different area. It helps me keep consistent with everything, not just cardio or just strength.

I call Rumble the gym, but it is less like a Planet Fitness and more like a pilates studio. You can’t just show up at any time; you need to go when classes are in session. So, it is a boutique fitness experience and thus, it comes at a boutique fitness price.

Prices range between $25 and $38 for drop-in classes and between $179 and $299 for a monthly membership.

I live in central New Jersey, and my Rumble studio costs $189 for a monthly membership, which means I can attend as many classes as possible. I could go to every single class in a single day if I wanted to, which is between two to five classes a day at my location.

Individual classes cost $28, a 4-pack costs $99 or an 8-pack costs $149. If you go more than twice a week, it is cost-effective just to get a monthly membership. I go five times a week, which breaks my classes down to less than $10 a class. However, a monthly $189 membership fee seems steep when paying for it upfront if I don’t attend five classes every week. Plus, if you miss a class you signed up for, you’ll get charged a no-show fee.

Rumble typically offers a free intro class to new members. Or you can test it out by using ClassPass (currently free for one month!).

Obviously, I think Rumble is worth the cost, since we’re fast approaching my 2nd anniversary! I have now lost 75 pounds since I started attending Rumble five times a week. I find it to be challenging, heart-pumping and fun. Plus, the calories burned are a nice incentive to keep pushing myself further!

I started 2025 with a few New Year’s Resolutions that were less about weight loss and more about overall comfort. My big resolutions all had to do with Rumble, like:

Feeling comfortable working out in a sports braCompete in a Rumble challengeWin a Rumble raffleDo 250 classes in a year

I am ending 2025 having attended over 200 classes this year. I won a $50 gift card during a Rumble challenge, and I finally started to wear a sports bra to the gym!

Some of those might seem like tiny milestones, but as a person who never used to wear “cute” gym clothes, being able to wear a sports bra to the gym and feel good doing it is huge. Now that I’ve crushed those resolutions, I’ve got to put pen to paper to determine what I can achieve at Rumble in 2026.
