Former fast bowler McGrath told BBC Sport that the occassion will be “special” for him and his family.

“This will be the 18th ‘Pink Test’ where we raise money in the name of my late wife Jane and last year we broadened the reach of the foundation to cover all types of cancer as well as breast cancer,” he said.

“It can be emotional but it is an occasion unique in sport given the scale – one that I view as a celebration of life.”

It has also become a tradition during the annual Test match at Lord’s for England fans and players to wear red in support of the charity founded by Andrew Strauss’ wife, Ruth, who died in 2018 from non-smoking lung cancer.
