An iconic moment in TV history is set to grace our screens next week. “Corriedale” will see the worlds of Coronation Street and Emmerdale collide for the first time. An explosive hour-long broadcast will see the residents of Weatherfield find themselves in danger as they meet their Yorkshire counterparts in the midst of a car pile up.

The “Corriedale” episode is jam-packed and viewers must prepare themselves for drama, heartbreak and an emotional rollercoaster.

Actress Claire Sweeney reflected on the unique episode as she told the ECHO: “I think it’s a piece of history. You look back on the old days of the tram crash, you look back on when the aeroplane came down on Emmerdale, they were historic pieces in the soap and this is the same, it’s never happened before.”

Claire, who portrays Cassie Plummer on Coronation Street, said: “It’s not just like a regular episode where we stroll in the Woolpack or Emmerdale strolls into the Rovers, it’s epic.”

Teasing what fans can expect, Julia Goulding (Shona Platt) told the ECHO at the ‘Corriedale’ premiere: “It’s something that will change a lot of people’s lives forever.”
