A popular bar and restaurant overlooking the sea in one of Wales’ best seaside towns is closing, it has been confirmed. Salty’s Beach Bar and Restaurant, located on South Beach in Tenby, is a favourite amongst many locals and tourists alike, especially during the holiday season when the beach is packed with people enjoying the sand just yards away from the bar’s front door.

The family that runs Salty’s has announced that the bar will close on Sunday, January 4, five years after they took it over in 2021.

In a message posted on social media, the family said: “After an incredible journey, Salty’s Bear Bar and Restaurant will be closing our doors for the final time on Sunday after service.” From superstar gigs to cosy pubs, find out What’s On in Wales by signing up to our newsletter here.

The family added: “Tom, Sian and family took on Salty’s in 2021, just as the world was finding its feet again after lockdown. What started as a leap of faith quickly became something truly special.

“We are unbelievably grateful to every single customer who has walked through our doors. Whether you joined us for a coffee, a family meal, a celebration, a sunny afternoon drink or a stormy winter warmer, your support has meant everything to us.

“You have helped us build not just a business, but a community, and we will always treasure the friendships, laughter and moments shared here.

“As we close this chapter, we do so with the full hearts and immense pride. We would like to wish the future proprietors every success and happiness in the years ahead.

“Thank you for being part of our journey and for supporting us over the years.”

The family also run The Salted Shack near Salty’s and canteen and wine bar Twelve, located in Tenby town centre.
