Brendan Rodgers is still searching for goals in the transfer market.

But the two new faces Celtic have signed during the 2025 summer transfer window still shouldn’t be forgotten about, despite their lack of experience.

Callum Osmand signed from Fulham, and he is yet to make a senior appearance in his career, whilst Shin Yamada joined from the J-League in Japan.

At the age of 19, Osmand is a bona fide project signing from Celtic, and a type of deal the club have done again and again over the years.

But with the Welshman in the building, what has Rodgers been telling him?

This is Rodgers’ bread and butter, and you back him to help Osmand take that next step in his career because it’s the most important one.

The player himself, whilst speaking to Sky Sports, shared how the Celtic manager told him to bring ‘energy’ to the table of the Scottish champions.

But, most importantly, Rodgers has told the teenager that he shouldn’t change his game, even though he is now playing at a pressure cooker of a club.

“He just wants me to bring energy,” said Osmand about what Rodgers has told him. “Bring what I am good at. Don’t change my game really.

“I feel like I have the qualities to come and show what I can do, so just keep playing my football, and then he is going to help me with little bits.”

🍀 “I really feel welcome here… I found out in late January [of interest] so had to wait out my contract”

What type of striker is Osmand?

Celtic fans have got a glimpse of what Osmand is all about during pre-season, but in truth, there is only so much you can take from that.

With the new Premiership season around the corner, the Celtic Park faithful will get to see what their new signing is really about pretty soon.

But before that happens, Osmand himself shared what type of player he is.

“I add speed and a bit of flair,” responded Osmand. “Just what the strikers here usually do, and what they are good at.

“In previous years, there have been players similar that I am looking up to really and want to follow in their footsteps.”
