The 27-year-old winger joined the Cobblers on a short-term deal in September after his departure from Stevenage last summer.

Edwards will now spend the rest of this campaign at Sixfields, having scored once in 12 appearances in all competitions so far.
“I am pleased that Kyle will be staying with us,” said Northampton manager Kevin Nolan.
“I am enjoying working with him and he is a player who has a good pedigree and we have seen the quality he has.
“We think there can be even more to come from him, his excellent performance on New Year’s Day was an example of that, and we are pleased he will be staying with us.”

Overall, Edwards featured 63 times for Town, scoring three goals after joining from West Brom on a free transfer in the summer of 2021.
He was an important part of the Town squad which won promotion from League One in 2022/23.
