Belmont Medical Centre, in Eastholme Avenue, was rated good in all areas by the Care Quality Commission inspectors.

The report, published on November 20 following an inspection on August 20-21, concluded the practice is robustly ‘effective’ and ‘caring’ towards its patients.

Inspectors found that the practice ‘pro-actively encouraged people to give feedback and used feedback from people who used the service to make improvements’.

Feedback reviewed including data from the NHS ‘Friends and Family Test’ showed the vast majority of patient experience about the practice was positive.

The results of the National GP Patient Survey found that 62 per cent of patients described their experience of contacting the practice as ‘good’.

This was in line with the local average, and stands above the national average percentage of 53 per cent.

86% of patients reported the healthcare professional they saw or spoke to was good at treating them with care and concern during their last general practice appointment.

88% of patients reported the healthcare professional they saw or spoke to was good at listening to them during their last general practice appointment.

84% of patients found the reception and administrative team at Belmont Medical Centre helpful.

The comprehensive assessment gave the practice a ‘good’ rating in all areas including safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

As a result of the inspection, Belmont Medical Centre received an overall “good” rating.
