Hollyoaks viewers will be seeing a familiar face very soon, with Tim ‘Tinhead’ O’Leary set to return shortly. The former Brookside character previously appeared in the crossover episode in October, and is now back for a brand new storyline.

In scenes set to air on Monday 12 January and Tuesday 13 January, Tinhead strikes up a romance with Liberty.

After going on a date, Liberty is smitten with Tinhead and tells her friend John Paul all about their romantic outing.

Later, Sienna arrives home distraught after having a row with Cleo, and while she’s being comforted by Liberty, Tinhead pops out of her bedroom.

Sienna isn’t convinced that the newbie is good news, and tries to persuade Liberty to see this.

Her suspicions may be correct when she later heads to Jez’s shed to destroy it, and hears movement proving someone is in there. She runs and finds a van driving off, with Tinhead as the driver. So what was he doing lurking around Jez’s shed?

Hollyoaks’ new trailer also shows newcomer Jenson confronting Tinhead about using Warren’s identity – so what exactly could he be up to?

Philip Olivier, who plays Tinhead, recently spoke about his move to Hollyoaks, saying that his character might have some very sinister reasons for coming to the village.

“I’m so happy to be back in the building,” he said. “Tinhead’s got a new fling this time around, but he’s also got some unfinished business lurking in the background.”

Olivier isn’t the only Brookside resident moving over to Hollyoaks, with Suzanne Collins also back as Nikki Shadwick.

Speaking of her role, Collins said how happy she was to be joining the show: “I couldn’t believe my luck when I saw Nikki has a friendship with the iconic Mercedes. I’m a huge fan of Jen [Metcalfe, who plays Mercedes], always have been. She’s an incredible actress.

“The response to the crossover was incredible, so warm and positive. I’ve been sworn to secrecy, but since getting the news that Nikki would be returning, I’ve been floating around on cloud nine with the biggest secret smile on my face.”

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
