Joe Tate upset viewers as his latest stunt proved unpopular

Emmerdale viewers were left frustrated as Joe Tate was caught filming John Sugden’s murder, ready to use as future blackmail.
Corriedale proved to be scene after scene of devastation, as Coronation Street collided with Emmerdale for one night only to kick off the new “soap power hour”.
It was an emotional night as Corrie’s Billy Mayhew died at the scene shortly before the minibus he was driving exploded. For Emmerdale, Cain Dingle was shot and later learned he had cancer, while Robert and Aaron made the most of their time together and decided to get engaged.
However, in a twist at the end of the epic crossover, John Sugden lay there lifeless in the woods where he had been running moments earlier. Victoria Sugden could be seen standing over his body, trembling as she watched him on the ground completely still.
Not to mention, Joe Tate was in shock as he spotted Graham Foster in the hospital, although wasn’t entirely sure if he was right in seeing him. Viewers last saw Graham in 2020 when he was “killed” by Pierce Harris, but looks like he was actually alive this whole time.
As Tuesday’s (January 6) installment arrived, police informed Robert and Aaron while Victoria sat there that John had died. After they left, Aaron was quick to pin the blame on Robert.
However, in a tearful confession Victoria confirmed that she had killed him and a flashback scene showed John injecting her with something and planning to do the same to her son Harry so he could come back to get them once he found Aaron.
Victoria admitted that she woke up shortly after, and luckily Harry didn’t drink the chocolate milk that John had put the drug into. She arrived at the crash scene as Matty Barton informed her, and found John in the woods.
Although he battled her to the ground, she found another syringe in his pocket and stabbed him with it in the neck. He had an adverse reaction to the drug, and died in a similar fashion to Nate Robinson, whose life he took.

There’s clearly more drama to come, however, as Joe Tate was seen standing hidden in the woods filming the whole ordeal, including Victoria making it look as though John had done it to himself.
On X (formerly known as Twitter), @georgepie935869 wrote: “I always thought that Joe Tate must have a good side in there somewhere, but filming Vic trying not to die at the hands of her brother is new low even for him and now the blackmail begins”.
@tocheerusup added: “Joe you are the lowest of the low (and getting called a hero). I hope #robron take you down. There’s nothing they won’t do to protect Vic.” as @alwaysrobanov penned: “Joe Tate having footage of Vic killing John and he will most certainly use it to get what he wants, I feel sick”.
Another viewer, @loworglow said: “I hope Robert and aaron are ****** when they find out Joe did nothing to help Vic and now is probably trying to use it against them. Like they’ll probably give him whatever he wants but I hope they go after him too because that was so cold”.
