The popular short-form YouTube series “The Unknowable” gets a brand new long-form series with “The Unknowable: Darkland,” and we’re thrilled to announce that the horror series is coming exclusively to the Bloody Disgusting-powered Screambox streaming service.

“The Unknowable: Darkland” will premiere on February 3, 2026!

The series comes from creator/producer Zachary Donohue (The Den), director/editor/producer Kyle Cooper (“The Unknowable”), and producer Jon Ferro (founder of FEARnet).

“The Unknowable: Darkland” explores the complex characters and supernatural forces behind the Darkland Amusement Park. The mysterious disappearance of a local teen, Tammy, reignites the obsession of private investigator Atticus Fairbanks.

The detective’s search for answers unearths not only the truth of what happened to Tammy, but secrets about cult leader Dexter Venito, who built Darkland, and his wife Theodosia Birchwood, who went missing 25 years prior…

Zachary Donohue previews, “The Unknowable: Darkland forges a fresh way into the world of True Crime documentaries. It tells a haunting saga with its own innovative storytelling approach, packed to the brim with loads of creepy liminal imagery and moments of cosmic horror that push the boundaries of imagination and convention.

“The show is inspired by the atmospheric, dreamy works of David Lynch, and embraces the comical and surreal, drawing from the sensibilities of Luis Buñuel, Caroline Martel, Guy Maddin, the Maysles Brothers, Chris Marker, and Monty Python. As a lover of all things horror, it’s safe to say there’s something for every horror fan in this show… hell, we even have clowns!”

Director Kyle Cooper teases, “As you dive into the sordid history of the abandoned Darkland Park, you’ll experience something unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. While there is an overarching storyline for the season, each episode explores different genres, styles, and tones, from true crime to Gothic horror. There’s a sense of dream logic throughout that opens some very unexpected doors, especially as the season unfolds. It’s a trip, in the best sense of the word; one that will have more to explore and experience upon repeat views.”

“The Unknowable: Darkland” will feature music from composer Curse Mackey.
