One of the deleted scenes that will be featured on the Predator: Badlands home media releases has been released via IGN. This is almost 2 minutes long and features a slightly longer scene featuring Dek and Thia going through ‘Squirt Canyon’. Some of the special effects are unfinished.
Thia says, “Even if you can’t kill the Kallisk, just surviving Genna is an accomplishment.” Dek says he will succeed. They argue and Dek lets her fall onto the ground. Thia says, “Then you need to be smart. So you have a different story told about you than those that came before you.”
One of the Spray Snakes attacks Dek and he grabs and kills it. Just then, lots more appear in the canyon and the scene continues like the film, although the shots are different.
The Predator: Badlands home media releases come out on February 23rd in the UK. You can preorder them on Amazon.co.uk, I think it comes out a few days earlier in the US but the pre-orders aren’t online yet.
The other deleted scenes will include:
Sand Trap—An early animatic version of Dek’s very different first encounter with Thia.
Tessa vs. Abe—Tessa faces off against a superior synth in this deleted scene and storyline.
Razor Grass—The original previsualization of Dek, Thia, and Bud’s first hunt together…sort of.
The Outpost—Thia takes Dek to a small Weyland-Yutani field facility where they experience a few things that ended up being used elsewhere in the final film.
Super Power Loader Extended—Special additional moments during Dek’s climactic final battle with the Super Power Loader and the Kalisk.
