Mike Joyce, former drummer of The Smiths, is touring to celebrate the publication of his memoir and will appear at Pocklington Arts Centre on January 28.
The show will offer fans a rare opportunity to find out more about the band, with intimate evening of stories, conversation, and an audience Q&A, alongside an interview hosted by The Guardian’s Dave Simpson.

Inviting fans to join him, Mike said: “I’ve been asked numerous times, ‘What was it like being in The Smiths?’ That’s one hell of a question to answer.”
The tour coincides with the publication of his memoir, which details his years with The Smiths and his close friendship with bassist Andy Rourke.
The Smiths, formed in 1982 and disbanded in 1987, are widely regarded as one of the most influential bands of their era, with all five of their studio albums reaching the UK charts’ top five.

After his time with the Smiths, Joyce also worked with Sinead O’Connor, Public Image Ltd, Suede, and Peter Doherty, and as a DJ.Â
