Fans of The Traitors in Newcastle have the chance to choose whether they are a Faithful or a Traitor

As its new series has millions of viewers on the edge of their seats, lifts inspired by The Traitors have arrived in Newcastle, as fans are asked to choose which door to go in. And once in, whether you pick Faithful or Traitor, you get a welcome from Claudia Winkleman herself.

Since its debut during the Winter World Cup at the end of 2022, The Traitors has taken the BBC by storm, with series one, won by The Faithfuls as Traitor Wilf was ousted at the 11th hour, becoming a huge word of mouth success, as people rushed to binge each episode on iPlayer. Series two and three were also massive ratings winners, as Harry and Leanne and Jake won respectively, before the final of the Celebrity version won the Traitors the most watched TV show of 2026, as more than 15 million saw Alan Carr triumph.

Series four launched on New Year’s Day and has once again done the business, with fans hooked on the antics of Traitors like Rachel and Fiona, while supporting Faithfuls including Harriet, Jessie and Matt. And, if you love The Traitors, you most definitely need to get yourself to Eldon Square in Newcastle city centre. The lifts inside the Clayton Street entrance have been wrapped in Traitors decor, with one door reading ‘Enter if you’re 100% Faithful’ and the other with the words ‘Enter if you’ve always been a Traitor’ on it.

Once you’ve entered the lift, with the interior decked out to look like the inside of the Traitors castle and the doors have closed, you’ll hear the ominous chimes of the clock, before you’re addressed by Claudia. Depending on which lift you get in, you’ll get a different message from Claudia, with the address to Faithfuls asking: “Are you honest, loyal and a ray of sunshine or are you just fooling yourself?’ as Traitors are told to “Relax…if you can'”

After *SPOILER ALERT* Fiona was banished at the Round Table on Friday night, before Matty made a shock proposal to the Traitors, the new series of The Traitors will continue on Wednesday, January 14, with the final set to air on January 23.
