Suede will perform at the Brighton Centre on February 21, 2026, as part of their UK headline tour promoting their critically acclaimed 10th studio album, Antidepressants, which debuted at number two on the Official UK Albums Chart and earned widespread praise from both fans and critics.

Frontman Brett Anderson said: “We are Suede. The anti-nostalgia band.”

The band’s new single, a double A-side featuring Antidepressants and Sweet Kid, has also been well received, with both tracks earning spots on BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 2 playlists.

Anderson said: “I don’t quite know what it’s about yet. I like not knowing what my songs are about. I like keeping myself guessing, and keeping everyone else guessing. It keeps it interesting.

“You can’t really tell whether the song is a celebration of antidepressants, or whether it’s a criticism of antidepressants. But it’s certainly a discussion about them.

“Medication has become an omnipresent condition in 21st century life. It felt like I had to sing something about it.”

He also shared the inspiration behind Sweet Kid.

Anderson said: “The song is about my relationship with my son. There’s a shadow of mortality there.

“There’s that feeling that I think every parent has, where their ultimate fear is that they’re not around to see their kids grow up. Which is always a possibility.

“No one really knows what’s around the corner. When I’m writing about my family I try not to make it too sweet.

“It’s too easy to write sickly songs about your family. I always try and put a little bit of grit in there.”

The song Antidepressants has been described by NME as “anthemic” and by Uncut as having an “immediate, electrifying effect.”

The Brighton Centre show is one of many sold-out UK dates.

Suede’s return to the stage follows their London Southbank Centre residency and headline performance at the Isle of Wight Festival’s Big Top, where they debuted new material.

Their 2022 album Autofiction was their highest-charting release in more than 20 years, also reaching number two on the UK charts.
