The “best movie of all time” starring a Marvel legend is ready for period drama lovers to stream.
A “masterpiece” is ready to stream with the unforgettable period psychological thriller inspired by real-life accounts.
Marvel legend Florence Pugh has tackled numerous outstanding roles throughout her career, from the heart-wrenching We Live In Time to the terrifying Midsommar.
However, one that viewers might have overlooked is now available to watch on Netflix, taking audiences back to 1850s Ireland.
Initially released in 2022, Pugh’s “utterly disturbing” film follows an English nurse dispatched to a remote Irish village to examine a young girl who alleges to have miraculously survived for months without food.
One viewer commented: “It’s never dull thanks in large part to the haunting score and soundscape, and Florence Pugh’s truly remarkable central performance.”

Another concurred: “I loved this movie. I will watch it again and again and I know I will see many more things in it then.”, whilst a third described it as “stunningly dark yet hopeful”.
Earning an impressive 85% on Rotten Tomatoes, The Wonder is adapted from the 2016 novel of the same name by author Emma Donoghue who also penned Room which was turned into a film starring Brie Larson in 2015.
Whilst The Wonder may not be a true story, it draws inspiration from real-life historical records of “fasting girls”, who during this era claimed they could survive without eating.
“Every frame in this film is a masterpiece”, another admirer declared. “Subtle use of light and color takes us to the 17th century rural Irish village that portrays the lifestyle of the less privileged dwellers. Watch this movie to get a glimpse of the past.”

Another viewer gushed: “Best movie of all time I can’t believe this movie. I am in complete awe.”
A different fan remarked: “This film was actually brilliant, a must see”, whilst another added: “The story itself was both utterly disturbing and also very realistic about what human beings are capable of doing…be prepared to be disturbed.”
The Wonder was shot on location in Ireland, chiefly in County Wicklow and Dublin, five years ago, once more recreating the atmosphere of 19th Century Irish rural life.
The Wonder can be streamed on Netflix.
