Drawing inspiration from Resident Evil 4 and Silent Hill are good starting points for Teapot Studio’s upcoming Survival Horror title, The Twilight Project. And like Capcom’s classic, this third-person title plunks you down in a remote village that just so happens to have more than a few otherworldly horrors lurking around.

Available to wishlist now on Steam, the game centres around you as a tourist in Thailand, where reality shifts as night falls, transporting you into another dimension where grotesque horrors come out to play. You’ll need to survive the night, search for clues, and uncover the dark history behind the village. While some secrets should stay buried, those same secrets might be your only way out.

Sporting a visual design inspired by Southeast Asian folklore, The Twilight Project also features a “Day and Night Dimension System,” where the shifting realities have you exploring the cursed village by day, and confronting terrifying creatures from a parallel shadow dimension by night. To combat these creatures, you’ll need to set up a defensive perimeter involving you setting up traps or tools to defend against nightly attacks. As you might expect, your resources are limited, so you’ll need to plan accordingly.

As is the usual Survival Horror trope, you’ll also be investigating clues and solving environmental puzzles to uncover the background of the village, and the mysterious legends passed down through the generations of its inhabitants. And speaking of the villagers, they’re still around, though like the extra-dimensional horrors, you’ll need to be wary of them attacking you.
