Powerhouse Hobbs WWE Debut Plans Update

AEW

An update has emerged regarding WWE’s plans for the debut of AEW star Powerhouse Hobbs.

A fast developing story within the wrestling world in recent days has been the potential AEW exit Powerhouse Hobbs, with The Opps member reportedly expected to join WWE imminently.

Fightful reported on January 14 that Hobbs’ AEW deal was set to expire at midnight, with WWE sources expecting him to be heading to the company once he’s a free agent.

Now, in a new update, Cory Hays of Bodyslam.net has revealed via Twitter that Hobbs is expected to forego NXT and head straight to WWE’s main roster.

In response to a post from a Twitter user which stated that NXT is really going to need Hobbs on the brand, Hays wrote:

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that WWE had expected they “had Hobbs for quite a while”, with the former AEW TNT Champion said to have turned down a new contract from AEW.
