Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update on the future of beleaguered Tottenham boss Thomas Frank, admitting that his job is “not safe” following the 2-1 defeat to West Ham United on Saturday.

Spurs made it five games without a win in all competitions after the injury-time defeat to the Hammers – courtesy of Callum Wilson, who looks set to leave the Londoners.

Tottenham were booed off by their fans yet again, with a huge section of the South Stand chanting ‘you’re getting sacked in the morning’ to Frank, whose position as head coach is starting to look untenable in N17.

Tottenham Hold Talks Over Frank’s Future

The next few days will be interesting at Spurs, with a huge UEFA Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund to come on Tuesday night.

All indications were that the Lewis family and the board of directors were supportive of Frank, despite the situation at Spurs, but defeat to the Hammers may have changed that somewhat.

GIVEMESPORT understands that there have been talks behind the scenes over the Dane’s future at the club, with Romano backing that up in a YouTube update to his followers on Sunday morning.

Romano said: “Tottenham tried to show support for Thomas Frank by appointing John Heitinga as a new part of the backroom staff during the week, but then over the weekend, Tottenham lose again. Now the situation is very, very complicated for Thomas Frank at Tottenham.

“His job is at serious risk. Let’s see what happens in the next hours and days but the situation of Thomas Frank at Tottenham is not safe at this stage. They could change the manager, let’s see if it’s now or if they will give him opportunity to try and turn the situation but the situation is very tense for Thomas Frank at Tottenham.

“Thomas Frank is fighting to keep his job at Tottenham but the club will decide very soon, internal talks are taking place. The situation of Thomas Frank is in danger. His job at Tottenham is not safe.”

Just like when Enzo Maresca and Ruben Amorim left Chelsea and Manchester United respectively within days of one another, the same could be happening at Spurs and Crystal Palace, with Oliver Glasner’s future in doubt in south London following an outburst against the Eagles’ owners.

Oliver Glasner Could End Up At Spurs

Speaking after their defeat to Sunderland, Glasner said: “I feel we are being abandoned completely. I can’t blame any player. They did everything they could and this has been going on for weeks and months now.

“We have 12, 13 players from the squad available and we feel no support. The worst thing is selling our captain one day before playing a Premier League game.

“We are preparing, it’s the first [full] week we are training since September, and then we are selling our captain one day before a game. So I have no understanding of this.”

Glasner’s contract is up at the end of the season, but he could leave before then, with the Palace boss one of the favourites to replace Frank at Tottenham if both depart.
